Released in 1969 the Valiant Pacer was created to appeal for a younger "hot rod" market, and surprisingly carried a hotted up slant-six over the very commonly seen V8 platforms at the time. The unofficial power figure came in at 175hp which helped the Aussie built Pacer become the quickest car at it's price point. Other features of the Pacer included a standard inclusion of a Borg Warner 3-speed floor shift manual, slightly lowered suspension, upgraded sway bar, stiffer suspension, Pacer stripe and decals, tombstone bucket seats and a VDO strip tacho.
This solid example is a true original survivor car that is ready to be enjoyed. With the Pacer targeted at the younger generation many examples would be modified making such original examples like this a truly rare find. The car sat in on a property near Wagga for some time and was recently pulled out and brought back to Canberra were it was restored enough to get the car running and registered. The body shows some battle marks, particularly down the passenger side however shows little to no signs of rust. This Pacer indicates 45,933 miles traveled and has current full ACT registration until 21/05/2024.
