This Chrysler VJ was a facelift of the previous VH model and would be released for sale in 1974. The VH sold poorly, so to boost sales the VJ received a restyled front end, updated tailights and interior trims and an updated engine range. The utilities would also now only be offered in only two trim levels, that being the lower spec Chrysler Dodge and the higher spec Chrysler Valiant. The Town & Country dress-up option was also offered for the Valiant which included unique badging, livery, and a few other minor changes, but most notably the addition of a vinyl roof.

This example on offer is a Chrysler Valiant utility that was originally fitted with a 265ci "six pack", a factory optioned vinyl roof and laminated windscreen. The car has subsequently been modified to replicate a Town & Country option, made much easier by the factory optioned vinyl roof already fitted. The "six pack" engine was removed and replaced instead with a 440ci V8 big block with a 9" diff and 4" exhaust making this a very unique and desirable muscle car. The Valiant has been sat in a private collection for some time and whilst overall presenting very well could do with some simple maintenance to get it 100%. There are no obvious signs of rust issues on the vehicle with even the vinyl top presenting in surprisingly good condition. The paintwork presents well, as does the two tone grey livery and even the tonneau cover. As with all vehicles of this caliber inspections are recommended. This is a very unique vehicle, with VJ utilities rarely coming up for sale, especially presented and modified like this.
