You can’t go past the XB Falcon if you’re after a true collectable Aussie Muscle car. Here we have an original and untouched 1975 Ford XB Falcon 500 sedan with the much loved 302ci (4.9L) V8 Cleveland engine and T-Bar automatic transmission with a rare vinyl top. This Aussie V8 Classic was acquired from a collection belonging to a deceased estate where it had been kept in storage for many years until recently and is now offered up for auction.
100% complete and genuine, right down to the factory AM radio – an ideal and sought after condition in which most collectors and restorers prefer to find them. The Polar White colour with a black vinyl top and black interior is a simple and ideal specification. The only significant corrosion that could be found upon basic inspection is a small section in the driver’s side A-pillar section (see photos). Apart from this, only surface corrosion in the paintwork could be found.
The interior is quite tidy and in reasonably good condition for age. The seats and dash pad are in very good condition. The front passenger external door handle is broken, but comes with a replacement handle. The engine starts, runs and drives, but could do with a tune-up as it would have old fuel from being in storage, therefore truck transport is recommended.
Aussie-built V8s (both classic and modern) are becoming highly collectible, so this XB would make an ideal candidate for restoration or kept as-is in its original condition. It can be registered on historic (car club) rego or full rego.
