The Ford XD Falcon is the first of the smaller sedans made in Australia by Ford. The XD replaced the larger XC falcon with its larger American ‘Coke bottle’ design. It was designed for Ford to become the leading car manufacturer in Australia. The XD slowly overtook the Holden Commodore in sales which has cemented its name as an Australian Classic.
This XD is a factory 4.9L Pre-NSW emissions high compression V8 Fairmont wagon. Overall the Fairmont presents well for the 321,889ks traveled and is finished in Polaris Blue with a Palomino striped wool cloth interior. The car starts, runs and drives and would be a great base for a basic weekend restoration or base for a street machine build.
