Launched in late 2002 as the second update of the sixth generation Falcon the BA was an instant success and immediately took out the Wheels Car OF The Year award. The BA was basically a completely new Falcon over the previous AU generation, and included a significant update internally, externally and mechanically. The BA Falcon has held its own as time has moved on, still fitting in easily with modern cars on the road despite being produced from 2002 - 2005. The BA also saw the introduction of a new V8 engine to replace the now dated Windsor V8 with the introduction of the 5.4-litre 260kw Boss 260 engine. Arguably the Boss 260 has been known to show a power output of closer to 290kw when tested externally, however Ford stood by the quoted 260kw. 

This particular BA is a collectors specification of a BA XR8 and a true testament to its time. Sold new by John McGrath Ford in Canberra the XR8 has stayed local the entire time with complete original books and service history to back it up. The vendor is the second owner and also a Canberra local and it is clear that both of these owners have cared for the car meticulously. The original Blueprint paint and body work shows no sign of its age and the car has been garaged since new, and is rare to see a Blueprint car in such phenomenal condition. The interior with optioned premium leather is the same, again showing no signs of its age with even the original seat bolsters still holding up as factory. The car has a towbar, sunroof, and genuine FPV F6 wheels, all usable and complimentary additions to this fantastic example of an XR8. Mechanically the car is sound with the 5.4-litre V8 running perfectly and the 4-speed BTR automatic gearbox being the same. There are no knocks or rattles as commonly found with the BA suspension and diff cradle showing as yet another sign to the care gone into the car. A Herrod intake and SS inductions OTR appear to be the only mechanical upgrades.

This is without a doubt one of the better surviving XR8's in Australia and finished in the striking and stunning Blueprint with black leather trim. This is an ideal collectors example for club events, weekend trips or a private collection.
