The Land Rover Perentie is a nickname for the Land Rover 110 produced by JRA Limited for the Australian Army and part manufactured and assembled in Moorebank NSW during the 1980's and 1990's. The Perentie was based off the Land Rover Defender 110 and was introduced in 1987 to replace the aging fleet of series 2A and 3 Land Rovers. The Land Rover Perenties were produced in 4x4 and 6x6 variants and were powered by the extremely reliable Isuzu 3.9L 4BD1 Diesel and 4BD1-T Turbo diesel engines. The 6x6 version has a wider cab and load-sharing leaf sprung rear axles. The original order consisted of 2,500 4 x 4 and only 400 6x6 vehicles between 1987 and 1990, while further vehicles were later added under Project Bushranger. The 6x6 came in a few varients one of which being the "Truck, Cargo Light MC2" and in total 215 of these were produced.This Land Rover 6x6 presents exactly as it was when it finished up service with the ADF and runs and drives perfectly with only 104,326kms traveled. This 6x6 is powered by the 4BD1-T 3.9L Turbo diesel engine and is backed by a 4 speed manual transmission. This Land Rover features the original Service book with a full and details service history and records of all repairs and maintenance carried out during it's service in the ADF. These 6x6 vehicles are popular among people building overland campers due to their increased GVM and payload ability. This particular Land Rover would also suit a collector looking for a rare truck in original condition.
