HSV was a joint venture between Tom Walkinshaw and Holden and was introduced in 1987 as the performance vehicle sector of Holden, after controversies around the HDT Director and Energy Polarizer from Peter Brock's HDT vehicle sector. The Gen F HSV's went on sale in 2013 and would be the unfortunate last generation with the demise of Holden production in 2017. In 2017 HSV released the GTS-R, the most powerful Australian production car ever produced, and a perfect send off to an Aussie icon.

The GTS-R boasted a whopping 435kw and 740Nm of torque that screamed through the factory bi-modal exhaust system and required AP racing brakes and magnetic ride control to keep the power under control. Exterior upgrades were also carried out for the special run of GTS-R's with an aggressive front bumper, restyled and wider front quarters, and a restyled rear bumper and diffuser with new exhaust tips. This styling would all be tied off with unique GTS-R badging and the forever stunning Hyper Dark 20" HSV wheels which tie everything together. The interior didn't miss on upgrades either with diamond stitched seats, and GTS-R logo and badging throughout.
