Known as the Golf Clubsport in overseas markets, the GTi 40 Years was limited to only 500 units in Australia and marks something special. The 40 Years hosted a number of improvements over the standard GTi with one of the most notable being the significant power increase from 162kw (169kw GTi Performance) to an impressive 195kw at 350Nm which with a new boost function can jump to 213kw at 380Nm. Other notable improvements include updated front and rear bar with front brake cooling ducts, 19" Ruby wheels, updated exhaust with larger tailpipes, larger roof spoiler, updated LED tailights, 40 year decals, Alcantara steering wheel, Alcantara seat and door inlay and an Alcantara shift boot.
