The HQ Holden is arguably one of the most iconic and desirable Holden's produced and is a fan favorite to this day. Introduced in 1971 the HQ would see a series of successors produced until 1985 and was also the first Holden to be a full ground up re-design since the original release in 1948. In the standard wheel base the Premier would be the top trim level available, and would carry much of its design to the new LS Monaro. The HQ Premier would also be exported to Japan in conjunction with Mazda, where a 13b rotary engine would be fitted and the car badges as the "Roadpacer".
This 1974 HQ Premier was originally finished in Cognac Metallic with a white vinyl roof with a interior, and a 202 inline-six with a tri-matic gearbox. The HQ appears complete, but has been sitting since approx 2004 in a paddock in inland west NSW. The interior is heavily weathered and the exterior is quite sun-burnt with little left of the vinyl roof. Rust is primarily surface rust, with a rust hole in right rear pillar, and some rust in lower edges of the car. The engine turns over and starts, however it doesn't idle so no further testing has been done.
