Australian CJ-6s were modified CJ-5s which had the frame and body lengthened at the same time as they were converted from left to right-hand drive. The cost of doing this, even with the side body panels apparently seamless as seen in this example, was less than the additional shipping cost for the larger CJ-6. Willys Australian factory designed and engineered the CJ-6 for Australian conditions and this was demonstrated in 1969 when two of the CJ-6 "Overlanders" and a CJ-5 became the first vehicles to make the difficult east to west crossing of the Simpson Desert with its 1,100 red sand dunes.

CJ-6's were not wildly popular upon release, and in the 26 years of production would see a total of only 50,172 produced internationally. Now they are one of the rarest and more desirable Jeep models, with unique models being particularly sought after. 

This very rare Kaiser Jeep is an Australian Willys produced CJ-6, factory extended from an imported CJ-5. Additionally, this unique offering is a half cab, which very very few were produced, and little can be found about them. This example appears to have been used as a farm ute, and is missing the engine. The body is bumped and bruised but appears complete, and the floors throughout are rust affected. This would make for some very unique garden art, but more likely an opportunity to restore a very rare Australian Jeep.
