HSV was a joint venture between Tom Walkinshaw and Holden and was introduced in 1987 as the performance vehicle sector of Holden, after controversies around the HDT Director and Energy Polarizer from Peter Brock's HDT vehicle sector. The Gen F HSV's went on sale in 2013 and would be the unfortunate last generation with the demise of Holden production in 2017.
