Based off the Falcon sedan the GT was Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) answer to HSV's Clubsport and would be the entry level to the FPV range. The Series 1 BA GT utilised Ford's modular 5.4-litre V8 with Mustang Cobra R cylinder heads to produce 290kw of power. The engine would go on to be known as the Boss 290. To differentiate the FPV GT from the Falcon the car received a restyle including a full bodykit, large spoiler, updated wheels, updated seats and more.

With Ford Australia's demise and the Falcon range gone this saw special models like the FPV's increase in both demand for collectors and the price that goes with them. This FPV BA GT may not an immaculate example, but it is an ideal, functional and usable example that is ready to be enjoyed. With a good detail and some additional minor rectifications there would be little to tell the kilometers traveled on this collectable car. The GT runs and drives well and while it has received some minor modifications such as white walls and added gauges the car is a very original example.
